Student's power can bring a change - Simbu
Simbu stated that he supports only those events which he thoroughly believes in, and that's the reason why he is there on the protest spot, "I have not come here as a celebrity or as an actor; but only to take part as a common man; as a Tamilian. My father, who kept my name as Silambarasan, had been part of several campaigns that supports Tamil causes." Noticing that there is a Telugu girl in the protest group, Simbu remarked that when she can support for a Tamil campaign, why we as a Tamilian can't be a part of the protest. STR also highlighted the power of students and how it can make a great difference in society. Going by the saying that drop by drop will make a huge ocean; he stated that no matter how small the efforts are, it will gradually grow over to make a big change.
Acknowledging the hardships face by Tamilians in Sri Lanka, the actor signed off saying that he strongly believes that they will surely get a good solution to solve their miseries. It can be noted that Simbu showcased the power of students in his earlier hit film 'Kovil', in which he played a college student.

STR lends support to students on hunger strike!
Students in various cities are on hunger strike, demanding India to vote against Sri Lanka, for its alleged war crimes during the final phase of war against the LTTE in 2009, at the UN Human Rights Council meet in Geneva, later this month.
STR met the students of Law College, lending his support to the cause. He tweeted,"Met, motivated the #studentshungerstrike ... feeling sorry 4 them yet proud 4 their cause @ the same time :)"
This is really a noble gesture from the actor, who encouraged the students that, what they are doing is a real protest and is just a publicity stint if he does it.

நானும் ஒரு தமிழ் பையன்தான். எனக்கும் தமிழுணர்வு இருக்கிறது என்பதற்காகத்தான் இங்கு வந்திருக்கிறேன். மற்றவர்கள் முன்னாடி பேர் வாங்கணும் என்பதற்காக நான் இங்கு வரவில்லை. அந்த பேரை நான் நன்றாக சம்பாதித்து வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

Simbu joins the hunger strike against the Sri Lankan Government
The protest against the Sri Lankan government in the ongoing Tamil Eelam issue, is gathering steam with students from a number of colleges joining hands. The Dr. Ambedkar College students are undertaking one such hunger strike at the Tholkappia Poonga, Adyar, Chennai.
Their protest has gained a major shot in the arm as the 'Young Superstar' Silambarasan has decided to join their hunger strike in person. He is expected to stay on for an hour or so and lend his voice and moral support in this issue. The star is on his way to the venue, our source says.
