Nayantara Joins STR on Dec 5

South Indian renowned actress Nayantara is all set to pair up Simbu once again after
Vallavan in 2006 and the duo come face to face on December 5th for a two days shoot.
Pandiraj has zeroed in Nayantara for his upcoming directorial with Simbu. Earlier, director
and producer finished film's first schedule with STR and Soori, now he will be including
the scenes with Nayan.

''After Kamal Haasan, it is Simbu'', says a young director in awe

Ganesh Vinayak, the director of 'Thagaraaru', the upcoming movie that has Arulnidhi and Poorna in the lead is all excited about his debut project as a director.

Hailing from the camp of 'director' Simbu, Ganesh was all praises when he spoke about him,

"Simbu is one of my gurus. I learnt a lot from him. Frankly speaking, after Kamal Haasan, it is Simbu's talent that struck me with awe. He has ample knowledge about all the departments that function in cinema. Let it be direction, cinematography, dance, music composition or even singing, it is not easy to cheat him"

Thagaraaru is releasing on the 6th of December. The movie is produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri under the banner Cloud Nine Movies and will be an action thriller.

Pallavi Sharda is not my heroine - GVM

The media has been speculating wildly about who Gautham Vasudev Menon's heroine for his next two films, with Simbu and Ajith respectively, will be, someone lucky enough to be cast with two top actors. Pallavi Sharda's name (of Besharam fame) was doing the rounds, but Menon dismisses these reports. Sharing exclusive pictures of his heroine, he says, “The girl I have chosen is called Pallavi and she is a fresh face from Mumbai. She has only done a few ads.

“ The prolific filmmaker, who is particular that his heroines be familiar with the language in which they are working, says that he gave Pallavi training before starting shooting. “I took a proper screen test and audition and conducted a ten-day workshop with her. Then alone did I bring her on board,“ he says. The director says that he is yet to figure out a title for the romantic entertainer.

Meanwhile, the exciting combo film, consisting of Gautham and Ajith, is expected to go on the floors in March next year.

Here’s a lucky lady from the north who is all set to make her debut with two of the top Tamil actors. Pallavi Sharda, who played the lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam, will pair up opposite Ajith and Simbu in their upcoming movies with director Gautham Menon.

Simbu-Gautham project has started already and cinematographer Dan MacArthur, who helmed the lens for Go Goa Gone has been roped in for this project. The Ajith-Gautham Menon project will go on floors in February, as planned.

இதைப்பற்றி நிறைய பேசிவிட்டேன். சிம்பு படத்தை நான் இயக்குவதாக ஒப்புக்கொண்ட அடுத்த நாளிலிருந்தே நாயகியை தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தோம். இந்தப் படம் சிட்டி, ஐ.டி துறை சார்ந்த களம். படக்குழுவினரோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது இதில் நாயகியாக நயன்தாரா நடித்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும் என்று பேச்சு எழுந்தது. அவரிடம் பேசியபோது முதலில் கொஞ்சம் யோசித்தார். பிறகு கதை, சூழல் பிடித்திருக்கவே சம்மதம் தெரிவித்தார். படத்தின் முதல் ஷெட்யூல் முடிந்துவிட்டது. இதில் சிம்பு, சூரி சேர்ந்து கலக்கியிருக்கும் காமெடி காட்சிகளை எடுத்துள்ளோம். டிசம்பர் மாதத்தில் நயன் தாரா, சிம்பு நடிக்கும் காட்சிகளை படமாக்க திட்டமிட்டிருக்கிறோம்.

படம் பார்க்குறவங்க அவங்களோட வாழ்க்கையில், கதை ஒன்றி வருகிற மாதிரி இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நினைப் பேன். இப்படியும் கூட நடக்குமா என்று கேள்வியையோ, சந்தேகத்தையோ எழுப்பக் கூடாது. பார்த்த, கேள்விப்பட்ட படித்த சம்பவங்கள் - இதுதான் என் கதை. இப்போது நாம் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் போதே ஏதாவது ஒரு வார்த்தை விடும்போது அதை நீங்கள் ரசித்தால், உடனே குறிப்பெடுத்துக்கொள்வேன். எங்காவது ஒரு இடத்தில் அது கதையில் ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும்.

கண்டிப்பாக எடுப்பேன். கிராமத்து குழந்தைகளை மையமாக வைத்து கதை சொன்னது போல, முழுக்க நகரத்து குழந்தைகளை வைத்து படம் பண்ண ஆசை இருக்கிறது. ஒரு பெரிய ஹீரோ படம், அடுத்து ஒரு பசங்க படம் என்று மாறி மாறி பண்ண வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் என் ஆசை. பார்க்கலாம்.

மோசடி, பிரச்னை என்று உங்களை சுற்றி அவ்வப்போது ஏதாவது சுழல்கிறதே?

சிலருக்கு உழைக்க கஷ்டமா இருக்கு. ஓடும் குதிரையில் பயணிக்க விருப்பப்படுகிறார்கள். இங்கே பிச்சைக் காரர்கள் குறைவு. காஸ்ட்லி பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் அதிகம். அவர்களால் உண்டாகும் இடை யூறுகள் இவை. அதை நான் ஒரு பொருட்டாக கருதுவதில்லை.

குடும்பம், குழந்தைகளுடன் நேரம் செலவழிக்க முடிகிறதா?

சில நாட்களுக்கு முன் சினிமா விழாவில் கலந்துகொண்டு வெளிநாடு சென்று திரும்பிய போது, என் மனைவி வசந்திக்கு ஒரு தங்க நகை வாங்கிக்கொண்டு வந்து கொடுத்தேன். ‘இதெல்லாம் எதற்கு, என்னோடும், குழந்தைகளோடும் 3 மணி நேரம் இருங்க. அதுதான் சர்ப்ரைஸ்!’ என்றார். அப்போது எனக்கு எதுவுமே பேசத் தோணல. ‘கொஞ்ச நாட்கள் பொறுத்திரு. எனக்கும் ஒரு என்ட் கார்டு வரும். சினிமாவில் நானும் ஒரு நாள் ஓய்வு பெற்றுவிடுவேன். அப்போது நீயே வேலைக்கு போ என்றாலும், என்னால் போக முடியாது. அப்போது உங்களுடன் செலவழிக்கிறேன்’ என்று சொல்லி ஆறுதல் படுத்தினேன். இப்போது குடும்பத்தை பொறுத்தவரைக்கும் நான் குற்றவாளியாகவே இருக்கிறேன்.

இந்த பயணம் எப்படி இருக்கிறது?

இப்போதும் அடிக்கடி ஊருக்கு போய் வருகிறேன். எனக்குப் பிடித்ததே அதுதான். கையெழுத்து போடத்தெரியாத அப்பா, கைரேகை வைக்கத்தெரியாத அம்மா, எந்த அடிப்படை வசதிகளும் இல்லாத கிராமத்திலிருந்து வந்து அடைந்திருக்கும் இந்த இடத்தை சந்தோஷமாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு தானே ஆகணும். என்னமோ தெரியலை, உதவி இயக்குநராக இருந்தபோது வாங்கிய 3000 சம்பளம் கொடுத்த திருப்தி, இப்போது லட்சங்களைப் பார்க்கும்போது இல்லை. அதேபோல, இப்போ வரைக்கும் ஒரு இயக்குநரா பொழுதுபோக்குக்கான படங்களைத்தான் இயக்கியிருப்பதாக நினைக்கிறேன். இன்னும் மனதுக்குப் பிடித்த படமும் கொடுக்கவில்லை. அதை செய்யும் வரைக்கும் இந்தப் பயணம் தொடரும்.

Simbu, Nayanthara to team up for director Pandiraj’s rom-com

Putting aside their personal issues, Simbu and Nayanthara, who were in a romantic relationship in the past, have agreed to pair up once again for Pandiraj’s untitled film.

Confirming the news, Pandiraj says, “I felt that Nayanthara would be a perfect fit for the character and approached her through our cinematographer Balasubramaniem, who is working with her in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. She liked the role but was reluctant to agree because Simbu was the lead. However, I convinced her by pointing out that exes like Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have worked together after breaking up. She understood my point of view and agreed.”

Nayanthara will play the role of Mylaa, a lovable girlnext-door. The director had completed the first schedule of the film, which is a cityset romantic comedy, with Simbu, and was waiting to start the next schedule as he had to find a female lead.

Simbu too, we hear, had initially felt that casting Nayanthara might give rise to unwanted rumours. “But I told him that this would work. So, he told me that if I believed this will benefit the film, he was OK with it,” reveals Pandiraj and adds that both the actors were professional enough to trust their director with casting choices.

 

STR and Nayan come together for Pandiraj

Director Pandiraj has pulled off a coup of sorts, by casting the two stars together One can call it a coup of sorts with national award winning filmmaker Pandiraj bringing together Silambarasan and Nayanthara, the once lovey-dovey couple who is well estranged now for his upcoming untitled flick which is jointly produced by him and the actor. The movie marks the sensational pair who hit head tional pair who hit hea lines for their glorious affair and then breaking up after their blockbuster Vallavan in 2006.

Confirming the news to DC in an exclusive a beaming Pandiraj says, “After I finished the script, If Nayanthara would be the apt choice for my female protagonist. I make this film on a first copy basis and STR is the main producer. So, first I asked STR if he had any reservations acting along side Nayan for whic he said no an gave a green signal. But I was apprehensive to approach her since I was not sure as how she would react to team up with Simbu once again. So, I took a different route to initiate the talks. My cinematographer Balasubramanieyam is also cranking camera for Nayan Udhay's current project Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. I asked his help to talk to Nayan. He was also hesitant but I insisted one thing, `just tell her that I want to narrate the script over phone'. Perhaps she was in a good mood when Bala asked her and she agreed to lis ten to my script over the phone.

“ Pandiraj says that it was purely on the merit of the script that made her give a nod to my film.
“I had to convince Nayan a lot since she had a hesitation to team up with Simbu after they split up years ago. I told her to lit up years ago. I told her to look at it professionally since it is a common thing in Bollywood where star couple splits up and acts together in films. And finally, she fell in splits up and acts together in films. And finally, she fell in love with the script and agreed to come on board“.

Nayan who celebrated her birthday on November 18th is presently the numero uno with back to back hits -Raja Rani and Arrambam. So, how about the big remunera tion she commands? “Oh, Simbu being the producer, it is his call and all is well with my hero who has finalised her and as finalised her and he has signed on dotted line“, Pandiraj quips. A city based slicker, Pandiraj promises that there will lot of sur prises in the film.

Nayanthara-Simbu pair up for Pandiaraj flick

Pasanga fame director Pandiraj had wrapped the first schedule of shooting with Simbu recently for his upcoming untitled romantic flick. With the heroine yet to be finalised, the director has recently revealed that he is looking out for a heroine who looks like an angel. Looks like the hunt for the heroine has come to an end and Simbu's once upon a time real life love, Nayanthara has been roped in to play the female lead.

With the fans awating the announcement of Simbu's heroine after the actor having revealed his love for Hansika openly, the director wished Nayanthara on her birthday yesterday (Nov18th) tweeting "Happy birthday 2 angel nayanthara!" This has arised the doubt among fans, that if Nayanthara will team up with Simbu once again as Pandiraj has refered to her as an angel.

The two had earlier paired up for 'Vallavan' which was written and directed by Simbu himself. Will the two pair up is a question among fans and it is unlikely that they would either.

Gautham is back in action

After a year of hiatus, director Gautham Vasudev Menon has now confirmed that he has begun shooting for his next untitled project with actor STR. One may recall that actor Suriya walked off from Gautham's Dhruvanatchathiram stating that he waited for a year for the director to shape up the script satisfactorily and when it didn't happen, the project was dropped. Later, it was reported that the director will join hands with actors Ajith and STR. Director Gautham wrote on his microblogging website, “Very happy to be back at shoot after almost a year of waiting. STR now (day and night) and looking forward to Ajith sir from February 15th.“ Despite being busy with his project with director Pandiraj, one hears that actor STR has been a source of great support to Gautham to complete the film before February for the director to begin working with Ajith. Many believed that actor Ajith would take a break after Veeram to undergo surgery . But now it looks like the actor will land up at the set of Gautham's project right after his Pongal release. Gautham's Ajith starrer is touted to be a stylish mass entertainer.

Simbu works 24 x 7!

Simbu is doing a lot of night shoot in and around Adyar area in south Chennai for his upcoming action packed film with Gautham Menon. During day time he is working for the Pandiraj film.

STR is working for the second time with Gautham after the stupendous success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. STR himself has tweeted: “Started shoot for @menongautham untitled movie... its not a sequel of vtv...fresh script with super action and romance... super excited :)"

Meanwhile Simbu’s home production with Pandiraj direction is also progressing fast. The film has STR with a new look and image. The heroine hunt for the film is still going on and will be firmed up in the next

Romance rain for STR

Simbu has appeared to have taken the romance route yet again. After Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, the actor has been brought on board by Gautham Menon for his upcoming project which has not been given a name yet. The movie apparently has its own share of action too. Simbu took to his social media space recently to express his excitement about the project.

"Started shoot for @menongautham untitled movie... its not a sequel of vtv...fresh script with super action and romance... super excited :)"

It should be noted that Simbu's movie with director Pandiraj is also said to be a fresh romance script. Well, its raining romances for the actor at the moment.

Bearded look for Simbu in Gautham’s project

Looks like it’s the season to go rough and rugged for namma Kollywood heroes. Actor Simbu, who has been off the filmi circuit for a while, was recently spotted with a beard at an event. And the buzz is that he will be sporting a rugged look in his upcoming film with Gautham Menon.

When asked, Simbu confirmed it, saying, “Yes, I will be sporting a beard and have a rough look in my film with Gautham. This will not be VTV 2, but a different subject.” Interestingly, the actor had sported a similar look in his 2005 film Thotti Jaya.

 The two, who teamed up earlier for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, are currently shooting at night at various locations in the city. Apart from this movie, the actor is also working on a romantic film with director Pandiraj of Pasanga fame.

So, the two have decided to start shooting on a project that will be produced by the filmmaker’s production house.” It will be a start-to-finish schedule, we hear. The source adds, “The female lead will be finalized at a later stage as she will be required to shoot after a while.” We also hear that Gautham Menon will be meeting Thala Ajith in ten days’ time to give him a full narration of their proposed project that will kickstart in February.

STR Starts Shooting With GVM

Just as 'Vaalu' and 'Vettai Mannan' are progressing towards completion, Simbu was signed in by Pandiraj for yet another project. But what comes as a sweet shock now is that Simbu has partnered with director Gautam Vasudev Menon on a project and the hushed team have already started work.

After their union in the 2010 blockbuster 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya', expectations are mounting on their following project together, the biggest of them all being the belief that this one is a sequel to the super hit. However, no information on this project has been divulged yet, but is expected to make it to news soon, for all said and done, the crew has already gone on the floors and started filming.

It's just the beginning, for Gautham Menon and Simbu

Gautham Menon will be doing a film with Ajith in 2014 and before he begins work on that project, he has already started working on a quickie with his VTV star, Simbu in the lead. A photoshoot has been done with Simbu and the shoots began last evening. The star was spotted shooting in the Adyar area of Chennai.

 

Other details such as the heroine and the title of the film aren't known yet. But we gather that the first schedule of the film will go on for the next 10 days.

Now, who will be the all-important music director in this new Gautham film? We'll let you know as and when we gather more info.

Remya Nambeesan With Yuvan or STR?

In a decade-long career in Kollywood, Remya Nambeesan got her big break into recognition through Karthik Subburaj's thriller, 'Pizza'. Being an accomplished singer as well, the actress made her singing debut in Tamil, in Imman's music with the song 'Fy Fy Fy' from Suseenthiran's Vishal starrer 'Pandianadu'. Now we hear that Remya will sing one more foot tapping number in Tamil, which will be for her upcoming film 'Damaal Dumeel'.

The song is composed by Thaman and is a duet. While Remya has been confirmed to croon the female portions, it has not yet been decided on who will be the other voice. Right now, the choice is between Yuvan Shankar Raja and Simbu, and in all likelihood, Remya will sing with one of the two very soon

Simbu's cameo for Dhanush's film

Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Films are jointly producing Kaakka Muttai, a film based on kids dwelling in slums. This film is being produced in one stretch and by the end of the month, it will be a wrap-up. The release will probably happen in the month of December and the team is confident of bagging many awards. G.V.Prakash has scored music for the movie while Manikandan is directing as well as filming Kaakka Muttai

Now, the big news about this movie is the involvement of Simbu in a cameo role as himself. Yes, Simbu will be appearing as actor Simbu in Kaakka Muttai and being a Dhanush production, the presence of Simbu makes it all the more special.

Simbu-Hansika film to release soon

In a recent interaction the actor Simbu had reportedly said that his Valu which is in the making for more than one year will release soon. Actually Vaalu was promoted as a Diwali release when it was launched in the early  2012. The teaser was also released soon after the movie's launch. However Diwali 2012 saw the release of Simbu's another long pending film Poda Podi and it did box office with Vaalu taking a back seat. Now it is reported that Simbu is taking all efforts to release Vaalu in early January, 2014. 

The multi-talented actor also added that Vaalu's audio will release in December and the film's release day will be announced during the audio launch event. It is also heard that the actor eyes on a solo release and making the necessary arrangements fort that.

The actors pairing up with his real-life ladylove Hansika is sure togenerate  enormous pre-release expectation for the film directed by debutante Vijay Chander. It is also to be noted that Simbu's lucky mascot Santhanam is joining with him in this film after a long time

Introduced into cinema as an antagonist and later playing numerous characters across many languages, actor Babu Antony stands tall as an eminent actor in Indian cinema. The actor has played important roles in movies like Poovizhi Vasalile, Attagasam, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Kanchana.

In conversation with the actor, we got some interesting information about his upcoming movies and his experience working in the Tamil industry.

Q : The first question that anyone would ask a tall person is "What's your height", even Simbu asks you this question in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa
A : 6'3" (He interrupts and laughs)

Q : You're working in Kaakka Muttai at the moment. Can you tell us your role in the movie?
A : The movie is based on kids in the slum and about their dreams. I am not allowed to tell the story. But I am playing the central character of a big business man who is planning to start his business where the slum area is. It disrupts their lives and becomes a big problem in the media. It is a very interesting story. Simbu is playing a guest appearance in the movie. I have a combination scene with him. It was nice meeting Simbu again after working in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. He has been very friendly with me and was very happy to see me again. I was happy to see him again too.

Simbu's not doing Govindaya Namaha Tamil remake

Pavan Wadeyar's Govindaya Namaha, which starred Komal and Parul Yadav is high on demand for remakes. Manchu Manoj was open to do the movie in Telugu after he saw the Kannada version and made Pavan himself direct the film titled as Potugadu in Telugu.

With the storyline and songs making the film a hit in Telugu, there were rumours that Dhanush would do the Tamil remake of the film. However, the latest news is that Simbu has been approached to do the Tamil remake of Govindaya Namaha, who even recorded for a peppy number for the Telugu version.

It has also been reported that a new director will be roped in to direct the Tamil version as Pavan his busy with his own film. But when we contacted Simbu, he said that he is not doing the Tamil version. "No, I am not doing the film and I haven't even seen the film yet. Moreoever, I have no dates for a while as well," says Simbu.

The actor is currently gearing up for the release of Vaalu, which has Hansika Motwani as the female lead. The film also marks the debut of Kannada actor Aditya, who plays the villain in Vaalu. "The producers are looking for a solo release and that's the reason why the audio function has been put on hold. The film is likely to hit the screens on late December or January," informs Simbu
